McDougal Littell Ancient History (6th Grade)

Standard(s): Ca Content Standard History 6.2 Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the early civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Kush.

Objective: SWBAT identify the major accomplishments of the empires of the fertile crescent.  They will also be able to interpret the Code of Hammurabi and apply the law to modern day scenarios.

Materials:Guided Reading Notes: McDougal littell World History: Ancient Through Early Modern Times (pages 43-46) and accompanying activity- Code of Hammurabi- What would he tell you to do?

Modifications: fill-in notes, allow students to work in pairs and start homework assignment (The Code of Hammurabi activity) together, extra practice online using McDougal Littell Class Zone
